Beyond water treatment, FeSO4 has two specialized applications rarely mentioned by suppliers:

Iron Micronutrient (Fe-EDDHA Alternative): FeSO4 directly supplies Fe²⁺ for plants with chlorosis (yellowing leaves). Apply at 0.1–0.5% concentration via root drench or foliar spray. Common in hydroponics, ornamental plants, and dragon fruit cultivation.
Color Fixation in Textile Dyeing (Mordanting): FeSO4 acts as a mordant in natural/synthetic dyeing processes, enhancing color adhesion to cotton/linen fibers. Usage: 2–5% by fabric weight.
Electroplating Wastewater Treatment: Reduces Cr(VI) to Cr(III) per QCVN 40:2011/BTNMT before precipitation. Dosage: FeSO4:Cr(VI) = 3:1 (molar ratio) at pH 2–3.
