1. Saponification
NaOH flakes 96%-99% react with fats (coconut oil, palm oil, animal fat) to produce soap and glycerol. Saponification index: ~100g oil requires 13.9g NaOH. Dissolve NaOH in cold water first (DO NOT reverse) to control heat.

2. Paper Production (Kraft Pulping)
NaOH flakes 99% (CAS 1310-73-2) dissolve lignin in wood, releasing cellulose. Kraft process: NaOH solution 12–15% + Na2S, cook at 160–170°C, pressure 7–8 bar. Output standard: QCVN 12-MT:2015/BTNMT.

3. Textile Dyeing (Mercerization)
NaOH 15–20% treats cotton fabric at 15–25°C to increase gloss, durability, and dye uptake. Textile wastewater after mercerization needs neutralization according to QCVN 40:2011/BTNMT before discharge.
